Septic Tanks

Septic tanks are essential components of onsite wastewater systems for homes not connected to municipal sewers. They collect and treat household wastewater by separating solids from liquids before the effluent flows to a drain field. The two most common materials for septic tanks are concrete (the traditional choice) and polyethylene (often called poly or plastic tanks). These tanks will either be 1000 gallons or 1500 gallons in volume.  Each has distinct advantages and drawbacks, particularly regarding durability, installation, and long-term performance. Give us a call to talk about which septic tank installataion would benifit your situation the best.

Lateral Fields

The drain field (also called the leach field or lateral field) is the final stage of a septic system, where treated effluent from the septic tank disperses into the soil for natural filtration and absorption. It typically consists of perforated pipes or structures buried in trenches to allow wastewater to percolate slowly into the ground.  (Often 250'-400')  The two primary options are traditional rock (gravel) and pipe systems (the long-standing method) and chamber systems (like Infiltrator brand plastic chambers, a modern gravelless alternative). Each has trade-offs in cost, installation, performance, longevity, and maintenance.  We'd be happy to talk about trouble shoot your lateral field issues or assist with a new lateral field installation.

Hydro Jetting

Hydro jetting (also called high-pressure water jetting) is a professional cleaning method that uses a specialized hose with a multi-directional nozzle to blast water at pressures often ranging from 3,000–4,000 PSI through the perforated pipes in a septic drain field (lateral lines). This forcefully removes blockages, sludge buildup, biomat (the slimy bacterial layer that can clog perforations), tree roots, grease, mineral scale, and other debris that restrict effluent flow from the septic tank to the soil.  Call today to talk about how hydro jetting your lateral field could help your situation.

Sewer Lagoon

Lagoons

Lagoons are an alternative to septic systems made by pushing up soil creating a pond that waste water collects in.  These can cost less than traditional septic systems both up front and in the long run.  They're not appropriate fot all locations, as you must have elevation drop from the house to the lagoon. (We can always install a pump if needed). Lagoons do require the berms to be mowed to keep the grass down.  Give us a call to talk about the benifits and draw backs of install septic lagoons and find out if a lagoon is right for your situation.
